Position Available: Groundsperson/Labourer (Full-Time, Permanent)

Location: Calgary, AB

Role Responsibilities:

·       Conduct pre-trips on heated and refrigerated containers, following customer instructions and accurately reporting fuel and temperature readings.

·       Perform inventory checks using specialized software (Oasis).

·       Complete and document pre-trip analysis of yard equipment using tablets.

·       Inspect all equipment interchanged by rail at the terminal for damages/defects.

·       Carefully handle IBCs (inter box connectors) on railcars, including unlocking/locking containers.

·       Operate service vehicles in tight areas within the terminal.

·       Undertake physical duties as required, such as standing, bending, lifting, and climbing on railcars.

·       Adhere to all safety procedures and regulations.

·       Perform any additional tasks as required by the role.

·       Apply, remove, and assist with the identification of Blue Signal and derail track protection.

·       Carefully handle IBCs (inter box connectors) on railcars, including unlocking/locking containers

Qualifications:

·       Valid Class 5 Driver's License.

·       Ability to work on a rotating 2-week, 12-hour shift schedule, including night shifts from 6pm-6am.

·       Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.

·       Clear communication skills in English, especially over the radio.

·       Steel toe boots with a minimum 8" rise.

·       Basic computer skills and proficiency with iPads.

·       Capable of working under minimal supervision.

·       Demonstrated safe and efficient workplace practices.

·       Strong team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

·       Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.

·       Attention to detail and ability to meet physical demands, including lifting up to 75 pounds.

·       Successful completion of a company-paid pre-employment screening test and background check.

MacCosham has been providing rail yard terminal services for over 50 years and is experienced in the management of a variety of yard configurations. In addition to our rail intermodal terminal services, including lift-on/lift-off of containers and hostler services, we also operate several container and chassis repair depots associated with rail yard terminal services, with a full range of mechanical, welding, and associated repair services.

MacCosham Inc. is looking for a full-time, permanent Mechanic Helper to join our growing team in Calgary, AB.

This position is Friday - Monday  10-hour shifts. 

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for maintaining MacCosham and client equipment in a safe and cost-efficient manner
• Assisting with CVI/government inspections and repairs under the supervision of a licensed technician
• Performing timely and safe repairs on trailers, containers, chassis, and other equipment
• Performing routine maintenance and servicing, including all fleet maintenance processes
• Performing tire change, replacement, and maintenance
• Driving company service trucks to perform minor repairs on chassis within our yard
• Assisting with after-hours service calls as needed
• Maintaining a clean and organized work area
• Performing other related duties as required or assigned.
• Opportunity to enter the apprentice program. 

Qualifications:

• Must possess a valid Class 5 Drivers License
• Comfortable working outdoors occasionally
• Forklift experience is considered an asset
